Integrity Assessment and Management
BJ understands that the integrity of a pipeline is of utmost importance to pipeline operators. The pipeline must operate safely and efficiently at all times, under all conditions. Regardless of how well pipelines are designed and protected, once in place they are subjected to uncontrollable factors including: mechanical damage, third party damage, environmental abuse, metal loss, subsidence, frost heave and slope instability. In order to ensure the integrity of the pipeline, operators must be able to detect, assess and monitor pipeline defects and forces that act upon the pipeline.

Defect Assessment

BJ evaluates, categorizes, verifies and prioritizes defects found by the in-line inspection. We analyze the defects in order to determine their effect on the pipeline’s ability to operate at the maximum allowable operating pressure.

Risk Assessment And Rehabilitation

We correlate existing pipeline data with in-line inspection data, review system characteristics and performance, and evaluate high-risk locations. This allows us to assess potential failure consequences and pipeline failure probability. You can then make appropriate resource allocation decisions for repairs and rehabilitation, plan maintenance schedules, and adjust your risk models accordingly.

Corrosion Growth Modeling

BJ uses the most comprehensive growth modeling methods in practice today. Every defect can be “grown” in size to estimate and assess its future impact on the integrity of the pipeline.

Data Management

We organize and compile the data sets required to provide the most complete overview of the state and operation of the pipeline, including defect, fit for purpose and engineering assessments.
