The Eagle Ford Shale is located in South Texas. It is approximately 50 miles wide and 400 miles long, running from the US-Mexico border north of Laredo, extending for a hundred miles to just north of Houston. It is located directly below the Austin Chalk. The formation is best known for producing variable amounts of dry gas, wet gas, NGLs condensate and oil. The average thickness of the Eagle Ford Shale is about 475 feet and it produces from various depths between 4,000 and 14,000 feet.
