The Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB) encompasses 1,400,000 square kilometers (540,000 sq mi) in Western Canada, spanning across Alberta, Northeastern British Columbia, Southwestern Manitoba and Southern Saskatchewan. Most the country’s oil and gas production and exports come from the WCSB.

The WCSB is one on the world’s largest reserves. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, estimates of undiscovered conventional oil and gas resources from provinces in the WCSB are 1,321 million barrels of oil, 25,386 billion cubic feet of gas and 604 million barrels of natural gas liquids.
