BJ Services and Oilfield Helping Hands Partnership Helps Communities and Team

A guest post by BJ Services CEO, Warren Zemlak
Our communities are where our legacy is rooted, and as part of how we do business, we intend to be good citizens of the communities in which we live and work.
Part of this is the work we do in each of our locales. Living and working in our communities, our teams understand their individual needs and challenges. We encourage our employees to contribute to their local areas. They volunteer, participate in events and make charitable contributions.
Team BJ Foundation and Oilfield Helping Hands
While we contribute to the community, we also want to take care of our team members. Without them, we don’t exist. Every team member is part of our BJ Services family – a family that extends to the communities in which we operate. We are committed to having a positive impact and supporting them as well as the families in those communities through actions guided by our foundational values.
Because of this commitment, it’s my pleasure to announce the partnership between our company’s Team BJ Foundation and Oilfield Helping Hands (OHH) – a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to oilfield workers in financial crisis through no fault of their own.
Team BJ Foundation was established after Hurricane Harvey as an employee-funded financial hardship resource for BJ employees in crisis. As of Nov. 1, 2018, BJ Services is partnering with OHH to administer the Team BJ Foundation. All funds contributed to the Team BJ Foundation will continue to support team members and charities in the communities where we operate.
Through the partnership, BJ Services is a corporate member of OHH. Employee submissions for assistance are kept anonymous and confidential through OHH.
Local Community Involvement
BJ Services works to support programs in health, education and social services, as well as environmental, cultural and civic projects where we operate. We will leverage partnerships with communities and organizations to impact individuals of varying ages and abilities. In addition, we strive to provide employment and economic opportunities in these communities.
We are committed to building partnerships and programs inside and outside of our organization that have a positive impact on the communities in which we operate through ethical business practices and social and environmental responsibility. Our values around sustainability, reputation, teamwork and differentiation guide our work.
As a company, we care about our team members and their families. The Foundation has already helped a few of us in the short time it has been in existence. This is why we’re excited to establish a partnership with OHH. Together, our goal is to have a positive impact on our team members, their families, and the communities in which we operate.
